Heading the offshore development center for U.S. client. It involves technical and management responsibilities. The environment is Rational Unified Process/Unified Modeling Language (UML), Rational Suite, VB, ASP, COM+ for design and development for a major re-engineering project in environmental health and safety.

(a) Projects Director for Research & Development / Technology for the organization. It has involved research and development on emerging technologies of commercial importance including WAP security, Palm operating system, Multimedia compression. The assignment has involved leading a team, developing a technology roadmap, research and learning emerging technologies, technology communications, establishment of tie-ups with research institutes. Also researched and initiated the set up of the company’s first organizational chat server.
(b) Projects Director for a leading publishing-house client for developing their web-sites with e-commerce enabling. It has involved leading a team of sixty (60) software and quality assurance professionals including four (04) project managers, team leaders, software engineers. Responsibilities have included end-client contact, project management, supervision, design, training, organization, and overall management responsibility for the four (04) projects. The technical platform has been Enterprise Java Beans (EJB), XML, and Rational Rose/UML for design. SEI-CEMM-Level 5 quality procedures are observed.
(c) Initiated and organized a program to train eighty (80) software engineers for Sun Java certification for overseas staffing in the U.S.A. emphasizing adherence to quality standards.

A leadership role in handling the information technology division of a group of companies with an annual turnover of approximately US million. The hands-on technical leadership approach involved software applications development for a payroll and human resources system under Oracle, Windows as well as business development.

A technical projects management role in IBM mainframe development using COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM for offshore development for U.S. railroad client. Responsibilities have included leading a team in a hands-on manner, staff supervision, program management for technical hands-on software analysis and development in business process re-engineering training and solving Year 2000 problems for legacy systems.

The ultimate client for this contract project has been a branch of the United States Department of Defense.
(a) UNIX, C, Oracle, SQL: (i) Systems analysis and detailed design of external interface to financial/ general ledger system for reporting activities of the 300 Defense Commissaries worldwide. (ii) Solved Electronic labeling technology problems. This also involved use of embedded SQL (Pro*C) and Developer/2000, Oracle Forms, UNIX Shell script programming.
(b) Year 2000: Used MicroFocus COBOL, SCO UNIX, UNIX shell scripts to solve Year 2000 problems for grocery legacy systems involving approximately one million lines of code. The second part of this project has called for a detailed analysis and programming for integrating Year 2000 modifications and compliance within current software development.

Completed systems analysis assignment for move of Integrated Desktop project from Tier 2 to Tier 3. Worked with the architectural design for TeleCenter System deployment on Windows NT platform. Involved use of HP-UX, Windows NT, Microsoft Office.

Programming, software development, systems analysis and design, end-user interface for a Wire & Cable Executive Information System (EIS) using Visual Basic (VBA), SQL server, ODBC, Excel. Major enhancements for an existing Excel macros system that interfaced with an OS/2 server. Subsequently re-programmed the system in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) to interface with a SQL server via ODBC (open database connectivity).

Converted Genmem membrane system from FORTRAN 77 to HighC for chemical engineers of Hoechst Celanese on IBM 80386 virtually single-handedly. Involved use of DOS extender, 386/debug. The system was complex, large, and had no documentation.

Performed IMS programming for financial and steel production applications. Used COBOL, JCL on IBM 3090 mainframe.

Programming, analysis, and software development for Patient Accounting applications. Used proprietary (hierarchical) database, COBOL, JCL on IBM 370 mainframe for several client hospitals in the greater Philadelphia area. Responsible for maintenance of a standards (VSAM) file.

Center for Computing Services. Developed and implemented programs in COBOL interfacing with IMAGE database management system, MPE, Query, View on HP3000 mini-frame. Wrote new programs from scratch, requirements analysis, systems analysis and design, as well as modified existing software for (clients, i.e.) accounting/ business, financial aid, admissions, alumni/ development, telecommunications offices of the university. Supported the AT&T System 75-data/ voice switch.

Responsible for UNIX system administration, communication system management, network troubleshooting; korn shell script programming and C coding for download and backup scripts on IBM RS/6000 under AIX version 3.2 to support several corporate clients across a WAN. Configured IBM-PCs for connectivity using PC/TCP.
Setup a Windows NT server, Novell print-server for an IBM token- ring LAN to enable financial quotes on workstations running under Windows for Workgroups.
Modified a communication server for a dial-up option using DOS batch files programming and thoroughly tested it.
